Nokia 6500 Classic - A Polished Mobile
The Nokia 6500 Classic is crafted in a seamless case of anodised aluminium, measures in at just 9.5mm thin, and weighs in at a very pocketable 94g. So immediately you get a feel of a lightweight phone that is well built, and well crafted. Each 6500 classic is polished individually, meaning that no two phones are alike. This just shows one aspect of the attention to detail Nokia has put in to the Classic. The craftsmanship is further shown with diamond polishing used on the display aperture.
As with most Nokia handsets, the attention to detail is not just in the design. Nokia have the ability to make good looking phones that are backed up with a top feature set. The Nokia 6500 is a 3G handset, along with quad band GSM technology to allow for roaming worldwide. The 6500 Classic is endowed with an internal memory of 1GB, offering plenty of capacity for music, pictures and videos. The screen on the phone is an impressive 2″ QVGA screen (240×320) supporting up to 16 million colours.
The Nokia Classic uses the S40 menu system, which offers stability in use and a speed of operation which shows no lag between selection and operation. It also has a quality 2.0 megapixel digital camera with dual LED flash, and has a built in digital music player. The 6500 also supports Bluetooth 2.0 which allows for transfer of music wirelessly to a compatible Bluetooth headset. The 6500 Classic has a unified USB connector, which offers audio and data connectivity as well as a charging point for the phone. This means with just one cable the phone can be used as a high capacity flash drive or be charged directly from a PC.
The Nokia 6500 Classic offers an acceptable battery performance for such a well featured phone. The Lithium Ion battery will offer standby of up to 300 hours with a talk time of 5h 30 minutes which equates to a very polished mobile phone indeed.
